The Kuranakh ore field encompasses 11 deposits in the Aldan District in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), currently operated by Polyus Aldan. Gold has been mined at the site for more than 55 years.

Three expansion stages have been implemented at Kuranakh mill in recent years, increasing annual processing capacity from 3.9 mln to 6 mln tonnes of ore. In addition, heap leaching operations commenced in 2017 with an annual capacity of 1.5 mln tonnes, enabling the processing of stockpiled ore.

A further expansion stage at Kuranakh is now underway to increase Kuranakh mill capacity up to 7.5 mln tonnes per year.
